Pumfoil & Flatwater Paddleup courses on Fehmarn

The mega cool water sports alternative on windless days!

1st Flatwater Paddleup Training

With the flatwater paddle-up, you have ultimate flexibility: you can start from anywhere and without wind. However, for this gain in freedom (in contrast to normal pump foiling), you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket for the basic equipment. However, you will be rewarded with a fun device that you can use in almost any imaginable conditions. SUP foiling in the waves, light wind wing foiling, prone foiling, etc.

How quickly can you learn the flatwater paddle-up?

Experience has shown: At the same speed as normal pumping.

As a SUP paddler, for example, you bring good previous experience to the course. The same goes for pumping. Success will not be long in coming. After the first session you may already feel the lift on the foil. As a pure paddle beginner, it will take a few sessions longer.

After a round of dry training, we head straight into the water. On our beautiful wooden terraces on the inland lake, we can relax in the water or even change equipment. We can also simulate paddling wonderfully from the jetty.

The right tips are particularly important for SUP pump paddling to prevent incorrect movement sequences from becoming established. We'll show you the basics of paddling techniques and how to load the board correctly.

We have a large selection of equipment at the start. SUP Foilboards from F-One, Starboard, KT, and custom boards. Foils from F-One, as well as SABFOIL LEVIATHAN are available.

Classic pump foiling is also becoming increasingly popular. The costs of a beginner set-up are very manageable if you approach it correctly. This course will teach you all the tricks you need to get into the sport quickly! Pump foiling is maximum freedom. Small pack size and lots of fun!

To start, you need a footbridge or platform. You jump onto the board and keep it going by moving it up and down (shifting your weight). This works in exactly the same way as with a skateboard in the „pool“ or „pushing“ when surf skating.

Pump foiling with a SUP in shallow water is different to normal pump foiling. The boards are larger and the technique is somewhat more complex to execute. However, the launching technique is actually easier to learn than dock launching AS LONG AS you choose the right equipment. Of course, a few days of practice are important. It is the perfect preparation/training for SUP foiling in the wave in the lineup or for downwind foiling.

When pump foiling, you need a jetty to get started (or something similar) and the right board and foil. You hop onto the board and keep it going by moving it up and down (shifting your weight). This works in exactly the same way as with a skateboard in the „pool“ or „pushing“ when surf skating.

In comparison, the flatwater paddleup is a little more difficult to learn than pump foiling on the dock. SUP pump foiling is a little more complex, especially due to the paddling technique. But you are rewarded with absolute freedom.

Not necessarily. To know how the foil reacts, it helps to have foiled before. However, there are many students who learn to pump without any previous experience.
